New Development
Well I had hoped that this wasn’t going to ever happen, but I suppose life has once again become the teacher and I again the learner. After years of not blogging about it, my situation has turned again once to having to cope with health problems.
After years of checkups with squeaky-clean results I’m back in the saddle with brain tumor tissue growing in the cavity it left from a surgery of almost to the month 5 years ago.
I’ve kept the archives of the blog/journal I wrote during the ordeal handy in case anyone ever needed proof or context, and it’s new URL is http://oldblog.spiritualslideshows.ws
The purpose of this blog is to show to the world that there is a blending of the world of spirituality, and reality…in other words things that truly matter in the end. Family, friends, and learning of eternal truths. Faith has a certain place in this still, but when I say that I know that there is a reason for everything and that there is a plan for our lives, I mean it in every sense of the word "know". Not just because I’m used to saying it.
At any rate I’m going in tomorrow morning at 5:30 AM for brain surgery #2. I know there is a higher power at work on this one. The exact same medical team that performed the first operation is still around. Right down to the nurse that checked me into the hospital this time around. No joke!
I’ve become quite a bit more skilled in the creation of media and expressing myself in writing in the 5 year gap as you can see with some of the other posts in this blog. Also I’ve re-discovered the importance of mental and physical exercise for a truly healthy living experience.
Most important of all, I’ve learned how important family is and that we have two families, really. The one that we can see (or not see) with our physical eyes. (Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters) and a spiritual family (A Heavenly Father, and spiritual brothers and sisters)
In reality, I’m not looking for attention here. Just giving people a way to stay informed and hopefully get inspired along the way.
If you are looking for truly a better person than I whose experience with health problems has not been the same please check out a blog here of a mutual friend who passed away as a result of cancer. (Actually I didn’t know her as much as some of my other friends do, but she truly was a masterpiece of a good person who would have blessed many people’s lives for years to come. This blog is truly inspiring in my opinion in the fact that everyone in the family is so genuine.
I’ll be sure to keep everyone else informed of important things. But this time I’m approaching it from two angles just for extra mental exercise. Everything having to do with the spiritual aspect of going through brain surgery is on this blog. The secular educational version is going here: http://www.edutechie.ws

Hey Jeff!
Just want to send you my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I love your dual-blogs and will be a frequent visitor to both. Blogging seems like such a healthy way of dealing with situations such as these-a place to sort out your thoughts, record what’s going on, and keep your friends informed. I wish I’d done something like this when I was sick.
Anyway, best wishes. I’ll be looking forward to updates tomorrow and in the coming days!

Thanks for sharing your experience like this. It is a unique way for myself and others to witness the miracle that has unfolded and continues to unfold in your life with this challenge. You are a good friend and a good man and I join my prayers with those of others for a successful surgery and a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Hey Jeff, I know I’m not one of your better known friends but hope everything works out well tomorrow. Thanks for always looking outside yourself to encourage others, like when you gave me job ideas (bus job) back when i needed some encouragement. That was timely help. Hope in turn that our faith & prayers buoy you up & strengthen you to get through this well. Please excuse my novice blogging, i think this is the first time i’ve ever posted on one of these at all although i’m not entirely technologically impaired, hehe.
Catch up soon, Sam.
